Story

OWL Optical was founded in Aomori, Japan in 2023.
Founder Kazu (Kazuya Naraoka) has loved snowboarding for over 25 years and even worked for Salomon in his younger days. While deeply involved in the industry, he began to question the business practices and complex distribution structure that had remained unchanged for 20 years.

With this in mind, we founded OWL Optical, aiming to create an environment where all snow lovers can ski in the best conditions.

Philosophy

The ultimate snowboarding experience at a price everyone can afford.

OWL Optical is a new snow goggle brand designed for beginners to advanced snow riders. Launched in 2023 after extensive field testing on snow.

Japan boasts world-class snow quality and attractive ski resorts, but its greatness is not yet fully known.
By delivering high-performance products at reasonable prices, OWL Optical aims to help more people experience the joy of winter mountains and spread the appeal of snow sports.

Behind the Brand

OWL Optical has three key priorities in product development and sales structure to achieve the best performance at the best price.

1) Simplifying the distribution structure (D2C model)

By eliminating the middleman margins that existed in the traditional industry structure, we offer high-quality goggles for around 20,000 yen, compared to competing products that cost over 30,000 yen, through a D2C model centered around our own online store.

② On-site development

Kazu himself tests the snow and incorporates the feedback of ambassadors as he develops the product. He also provides direct customer support, incorporating user feedback on fitting, visibility, and other aspects to improve the product.

3) Developing a sustainable model

Instead of annual model changes, we generally update our products every two years. This is our brand policy, which combines long-lasting designs with reasonable prices to reduce total costs for our customers.

Kazu (Kazuya Naraoka)

Kazu has been involved with snowboarding for 25 years, and worked for Salomon in his early twenties. In 2022, he opened his own shop on Rakuten Ichiba, building deep ties with the industry. Recently, he has been actively collaborating with ski resorts in Tohoku, working to revitalize winter leisure activities in the region.

His experience forms the foundation for "on-site development" and "user-focused decision-making."

The Digital X Team

The Digital X, which operates OWL Optical, is a team that also provides digital marketing support for overseas markets. Through the growth of our own brand, we aim to deliver value to the world.

Mits : A digital marketer with extensive overseas experience. Currently obsessed with snowboarding.

Jia : A social media marketer from Malaysia who is passionate about sharing Japanese winter culture with the world.
